Shannon Anderson
|
Shannon Anderson is currently a student at Portland State University. She just completely work at Clark College, Vancouver. There, she has had numerous opportunities to perform both as a soloist and in three choirs. She studies privately under April Duvic while pursuing her degree in vocal performance and music education. Teaching piano lessons out of her home, Shannon enjoys working with people of all ages. She lives in Vancouver with her five children. | |

Alison Askeland
|
Alison Askeland directs the choirs at R. A. Long High School and the Children’s Choir at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Longview. She also co-directs the Columbian Choral Ensemble, a community based choir in Longview, with fellow Chor Anno member, Brian Mitchell; a choir founded by Howard Meharg. A native Montanan, Alison holds two Bachelor Degrees from the University of Montana, one in Vocal Performance and another in Music Education. Alison also holds a Masters Degree in Education from Lesley University. At home, Alison stays busy with her husband Eric, an elementary music specialist, raising two boys, Leo, age 6, and Luke, 3. |

Holly Cullom
|
Holly Cullom began singing in children’s choirs at the age of three, and her passion for singing continued through her school years. In high school, she was a student of Howard Meharg, who encouraged her to pursue music as a profession, and she also performed in several musicals, her favorite role being “Anita” in West Side Story. After graduation, she attended Portland State University where she studied voice under Ruth Dobson and and sang in the PSU Chamber Choir under the direction of Dr. Bruce Browne. Her experience in the PSU Chamber Choir included the opportunity to record a CD, tour Europe to perform at international choral festivals, and sing with the Oregon Ballet Theatre and the Oregon Symphony. Late in her college career, she changed her major to English, and later completed a Masters degree in English. Today she works as a college English instructor and is Managing Editor of Single Parent magazine, the first print magazine for single parents in the US. Holly is thrilled to be a member of Chor Anno and to have the opportunity work with such fantastic musicians. |

April Duvic
|
April Brookins Duvic is thrilled to be a member of Chor Anno! Now in her 22nd year teaching at Clark College, April is the college's vocal music program director. Whe directs the Women's Ensemble, Concert Choir and co-directs the Clark College Chorale with another Chor Anno member, Janet reiter. April has donned many musical hats, teaching k-12 music (10 years with middle schoolers!), singing with the Portland Opera Chorus, the Norman Leyden Singers and the Oregon Symphony, Concord Choir, and performing in musical theatrer. She is active in ACDA, MENC, MTNA and NATS and her voice students have earned recognition at the local, state, and national levels. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Music from Whitman College and earned her Masters of Science in Teaching from Portland State University. |

Molly Holleran
|
Soprano Molly Holleran performs widely as a chorister and concert soloist, as well as appearing in opera and musical theatre. She is a founding member of both the Chicago Chamber Choir and the Tucson Chamber Artists, has performed with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra Chorus and currently sings with the Mid-Columbia Mastersingers. Opera appearances include Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte), Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier), Olympia (Les Contes D’Hoffmann), Ännchen (Der Freischütz), and Cunegonda (Candide), among others. Recent musical theatre leading roles include Nunsense, The Drowsy Chaperone, The Gondoliers, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and the Frank Sinatra revue My Way. Her most recent solo concert performances include the Northwestern premiere of Libby Larsen’s Missa Gaia, Verdi’s Requiem with the Mid-Columbia Symphony, Vivaldi's Gloria with renowned soprano Julianne Baird, and Handel's Messiah. Molly holds undergraduate degrees in voice and theatre from Lawrence University (WI) and a master’s degree in voice from the University of Arizona. A recent transplant to Washington, Molly maintains a private voice studio in Richland. |

Catherine van der Salm
|
Catherine is a native of the Northwest. She grew up in Sandy, Oregon, and graduated with honors from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, earning two degrees: Bachelor of Science in Business Economics and Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance. As a private voice teacher in Vancouver, Washington, Catherine coaches singers of all ages in art song, opera, Broadway, and popular musical styles. In addition to teaching, Catherine is an active performer, singing with Cappella Romana, in In Mulieribus and Oregon Catholic Press, and has appeared as a guest artist with Cascadia Academy of Music, Columbia Chorale of Oregon, Bravo! Vancouver, and the Vancouver Camerata. In 2002 and 2004, she was a regional finalist in the NATSAA competition, and sang for Elly Ameling at the 2005 International Congress of Voice Teachers. Catherine is also part of the Portland Alumni Chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon, a professional music fraternity and service organization. She lives in Vancouver with her husband, Ruud, their daughters, Juliana and Annelies. |
